Daali Dhananjay announce OTT debut with ‘Jerax’

Kannada streaming platform ZEE5 has announced a new fantasy-comedy thriller titled Jerax, marking the OTT debut of actor-producer Daali Dhananjay and filmmaker Srinidhi Bengaluru. Produced under the banner Daali Pictures, Jerax signals a significant step for Dhananjay as he expands his creative footprint into digital storytelling. Known for backing distinctive narratives, the actor-turned-producer is set to bring a genre-blending project that combines fantasy, humour and suspense, while staying rooted in Kannada culture. The series is written and directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, whose debut film Blink received attention for its inventive storytelling and emotional depth. With Jerax, Srinidhi steps into the OTT space, shaping a narrative that blends dark humour with a layered, suspense-driven treatment. The announcement underscores the platform’s continued focus on hyper-local storytelling, highlighting narratives that reflect Karnataka’s cultural identity, dialects and grassroots creative voices. Srinidhi Bengaluru described the series as a creative playground that brings together fantasy, suspense and dark humour, all grounded in the ethos of Karnataka. He also emphasised that the collaboration has allowed him to retain authenticity in narrative, language and setting. With Jerax, ZEE5 continues to strengthen its Kannada originals lineup, offering audiences stories that are both innovative and culturally rooted.
